Handmade Gifts – Why Robots Dont Ever Buy You Anything Nice-lata-01

Shopping-and-Product-Reviews It’s a sad thing that a search on Google for handmade gifts currently offers about 22 million results, with plastic gifts generating ten times this many, and cheap gifts twenty times! Today we have become very used to living in a throw away world, a society in which we buy cheaply and easily, with the amount of thought and sentiment reduced to clear. But let’s stick with the positives, because there are handcrafted gifts out there, and it’s important not to forget that, and to appreciate the added value which they offer. If you’re looking for a gift for someone, perhaps for a birthday, an anniversary, a Christening or other important occasion then buying a mass produced plastic product which is identical in every regard to millions of others just like it doesn’t cut the mustard. In fact even the mustard tastes like plastic. The trouble is that many cheap mass produced gifts today have never been touched by a human hand. That’s a heck of a thought – just hold on to it for a moment. You’re giving someone a gift that has never been touched by a real person. That’s how impersonal it is. The raw materials are shipped in, automatically dumped in containers, moved around by mechanical apparatus, heated, moulded, punched, sliced and packaged by complex industrial machinery before being sealed inside a plastic box. The first person to come into real contact with it is the person you’re giving it to. Now, don’t get me wrong, this can be a very special thing if the gift in question is a golden egg laid by a golden goose, the heart of a star or a rainbow condensed into a bowl made from petals. But in the world of plastic novelty gifts, this just emphasises how impersonal the whole thing is. Which is where handmade gifts offer something truly special. The materials are hand selected, often chosen by feel and by a keen eye with a great deal of experience. The products are hand crafted by skilled artisans, with each product being a unique one off. These are special gifts which have been touched, handled, cared for, crafted, checked, finished and wrapped up by human hands and through human endeavours, not punched out by robots who couldn’t care less what they make as long as they get a hot oil latte to go at the end of their shift. Before handing over your plastic credit card to buy something identical to millions of other people, something which has almost no human element to it, just stop and take a moment to consider the alternatives. Think about how much more special a gift would be if it was hand crafted, constructed and decorated by skilled hands, turning natural materials into beautiful objects which offer both practical uses as well as aesthetic beauty. Next time you’re looking for birthday or anniversary presents, or gifts for any special occasion, consider the benefits of handcrafted gifts, perhaps oriental gifts from the east. Industrial robots will never buy anyone unique, special gifts because they’re only designed to punch out identical, soulless money making products. Give a gift with a human touch, and see the difference in the other person’s reaction. About the Author: 相关的主题文章:
